Toyota’s stand at IMHX 2010 was designed to show visitors how working with Toyota Material Handling could help drive down costs in their business.

With three live demonstration areas, showing hand pallet trucks to the latest warehouse innovations, and master-class workshops providing expert advice, the Toyota stand had something to help customers with large and small fleets, drive down costs in their business.

The centrepiece of the Toyota stand was the live demonstration in the main area that showed the world-class technology and innovative features that are part of their core product range. This included the BT Reflex with the unique tiling cab which reduces operator neck strain and the Toyota Traigo equipped with the Toyota System of Active Stability (SAS). Toyota demonstrated to visitors how this equipment could help customers to improve productivity and increase safety in the workplace.

After the show visitors were invited into the demonstration area to see how the unique Swing Lock Cylinder function, which increases Toyota forklift truck stability, works. The patented Swing Lock Cylinder, which is one of six dynamic functions of SAS, automatically locks the rear axle to increase the truck’s stability footprint, greatly reducing the risk of a sideways tip-over. Using large models, Toyota was able to actively demonstrate the difference between a Toyota truck with SAS and other trucks without. This demonstration was supported by the recent independent test carried out by the Union Technique de l’Automobile, du Motocycle et du Cycle (UTAC) which showed that Toyota forklifts out performed four alternative forklifts brands in terms of truck stability.

Sam Coles, Commercial Director, Toyota Material Handling UK said: “This year, at IMHX, Toyota showed visitors how working with Toyota can help to drive down costs in their business. Thousands of visitors had the opportunity to learn more about Toyota Material Handling UK as a company, the benefits of our innovative products and our range of supporting services in an interactive environment. This year’s show was undoubtedly a huge opportunity for Toyota and interesting experience for everyone concerned.”
